Last year we had a shoot highlighting and celebrating black women in business based in Edmonton. It was such an amazing shoot #iwd2022 and this year we highlighted and celebrated black women in politics, leadership and governance we called and these amazing women showed up and showed out, and we had, a wonderful time during the shoot were able to run minds, network and connect as amazing women and beautiful black women who shared how they #embraceequity.

We sat down with an amazing black woman in politics based in Edmonton Alberta. Rhiannon Hoyle is a dedicated community advocate and entrepreneur, spending the last 20 years working with nonprofits, community leagues, and in leadership roles for the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues enhancing recreational facilities for the neighbourhoods. Rhiannon has spent time partnering with local businesses and residents to understand what they need from their representative. She sits as a publicly elected U of A Senator, and wants to ensure schools from kindergarten to post-secondary have better resources to provide the best education possible to our young people. Rhiannon lives with her family in one of the fastest-growing communities in Edmonton.
